Material system / outdoor specification
The look of timber.
A different material logic.
Light teak is a signature Polycobond direction—not the only one. Choose a woodgrain, mineral or custom-colour surface for the project, while retaining the same recyclable, weather-ready HIPSWOOD® core beneath every finish.

The real material advantage
One material core.
Many finish directions.

HIPSWOOD® is Polycobond’s patented high-impact polystyrene material. It is engineered to recreate the visual warmth, tactile grain and shaped detail of timber—without timber fibre in the material core.
Waterproof, UV-resistant and low-maintenance, it is suited to routine outdoor exposure and cleaning. The current GRS 4.0 scope certificate covers recycled post-consumer polystyrene material, extrusion and finishing; certified programmes can be planned with applicable transaction documentation from the start.
HIPSWOOD® finish card
Real board samples.
Specified by project.
These are original Polycobond board-surface files, selected to show the available woodgrain and mineral directions clearly. They establish a finish direction; final colour, grain and texture should always be approved against a physical production sample for each project.
REPRESENTATIVE BOARD CODES / ORIGINAL POLYCOBOND SURFACE FILES

Beyond these representative samples, Polycobond can develop further woodgrain, stone-effect, solid-colour and texture directions to suit a collection, target market or detailed project brief.
WOODGRAINTimber character,
without timber fibre.
From light teak and pale oak to walnut and deeper timber tones, surface grain can be specified to establish a clear collection character.
MINERALStone, slate and
architectural calm.
Concrete grey, slate, sandstone and other mineral-inspired directions create a restrained material language for tables, kitchens and public-space furniture.
CUSTOMColour and texture
for your market.
Our OEM/ODM team can develop colour, grain, texture, profile and finish around a brief, application, brand palette or approved reference sample.

Finish, applied
One material core.
Multiple material languages.
Finish is more than a colour choice. Grain, texture and edge treatment determine how a dining table, lounge or public-space collection reads at close range.
Within Polycobond’s connected material, extrusion and furniture-making process, the approved direction can be checked as a physical sample, a profile and finally a finished piece—before it reaches your project or collection.
